Happy Fourth of July!
Happy Fourth of July to my fellow Americans. To all my esteemed international friends, have a great day.

Ben Franklin: My favorite founding father and all around kick-ass individual.

My computer needs a new battery pronto and its challenged ways made this post a little late. I had wanted to post this last night, but my computer is under the weather.

I babysit my sister's little girl (like three months old little) a few times a week. That led to a lot of TV watching because Lilli (the baby) loves to be held and screams if you put her down. Usually after she sleeps on my chest for an hour, she has a sweeter temper, but I'll end up watching at least four episodes a day.

Here are my tv thoughts:

Buffy: Season Six )

Angel: Season one:

I had forgotten that Bai Ling was on Angel and I had forgotten how great that season was. Doyle was a character that, like Tara, shouldn't have been killed off.

Rome: Season Two:

Does this season get any better? I've only gotten to the episode 'Philipi' and I'm already disappointed. I loved season one, but all the characters that I like are getting killed off and there are only Octavian's merry band to replace them. Agrippa is boring. I really really really dislike the whole Agrippa/Octavia romance. I hate when shows have two people see each other like two times and then decide they are in ~loooove~. The only characters that I'm enjoying are Mark Antony, Lepidus, Atia, and sometimes Sevilla. I just don't really find the younger characters except Octavian 1.0, Octavia (when she isn't swearing her love to Agrippa), and Jocasta very interesting. Should I continue on?

Season 6
I really really hate how season six totally ruined all the magical rules set in the past seasons. Anya summons rabbits. Magic is like speed. Willow and Tara spark like Tinkerbell.

I'm watching Smashed and its just annoying that after seasons of Willow not being able to change Amy back, she can do it will the wave of a hand.

Someone Needs To Write This Crack!Fic
I'm watching 'Flooded' in the six season of Buffy and there is the best prompt for a crack!fic.

Willow: Okay - let me make you mad again. Ready? Um, um... Last semester? I slept with Riley.

Buffy: And you know I really doubt it.

Willow: Caught me. Big fib…To cover up my sleazy affair with Angel.

Also, I notice as I re-watch episodes (at least in seasons 1-3 and 6) that I like Buffy more, Giles seems like more of a crappy Watcher, and the special effects were really bad in a lot of the earlier seasons.

I've been reading a lot of Harry Potter femslash and Hermione/Pansy has a lot of possiblities. Anyone have any recs?

Its 5:45AM in Arizona and already 85 degrees
which would be like 30'C for most people. The monsoons haven't started so the day is almost intolerable and it sucks to go outside because its been in the 110s for the last few days. Hell, it was 116'F (or 46'C) Wednesday. Being outside in Arizona during the summer solstice is like hanging out in Satan's fiery sphincter.

In other non-weather and satan related news, Curacao is my new firefox theme and its really cute and mellow. I also now have the split browser thing going on. Its pretty neat. I can write a post while looking at Jay-Z Gifs on Best Week Ever! Sweet.

I wrote about a thousand words of Porphyria's Lover. I want to finish that up. I was reading it over and its amazing how unintentionally creepy I made Angelus in the beginning. He's a bit of a pedo bear. If anyone is waiting for a new chapter, I'm really sorry for taking so long with this story.

Celebrating Four Years of Velvetwhip!
I hope you like them, Velvetwhip! And, how about four more years?

You're No One If You're No One's Boy

Prompt: You're No One If You're No One's Girl

It hadn't taken long for Spike to change his mind about biting the chit. She tasted so good that it was hard to stop, but he had. See, he figured that he didn't need a spell. He just needed a girl.

Drusilla might have a slime demon, but Spike would have a pretty, non-slimy witch. He stroked the girl's cheek and smiled. He'd show her who was soft.

Once she saw him with this new bint, after a makeover, she would see just how over her he was. Then if all went to plan, she'd run back to him.

There's still time to celebrate Velvetwhip's four years of fandom so go check out the drabble fest!

Oh, Jesus, I'm sorry so much horrible stuff has happened in your name.
I'm on costume change #3 today. I've fed the baby twice and both times she puked on me. I come from a family were all the babies were/are pukers. I was a champion baby puker so I see this as karma. I'll spare more of the details.

My sister is staying for an indeterminate amount of time with my parents and I because her baby's daddy is a awkward jerk. I like having the baby around, but my sister has become a really uptight bitch over the years since high school. She was the prom queen who ended up in the trailer park with a bum. Its like that horrible Avril Lavinge song. Its difficult having her around because she acts like we all have to work together to collectively lick her ass clean and its annoying. I hope she mellows out, but it might be a long summer if she doesn't.

I got my Dad's father's day gift to soon. When ever I buy gifts for people, I just want to give it to them right away. I get ansty and I don't want to wait. I don't know why.

Did anyone watch the Belmont Stakes and see the pre-race stuff before? They were hyping up these two really sad stories about the jockey's kid (who was deaf and going blind because of a rare disease) and the owner's kid (whose mom was murdered) for some reason and they were in the list of reasons why Big Brown should win since it would be great for the kids.

Then Da'Tara won. What sort of name is Da'Tara? That sounds like a Wheel of Time character. Though to be fair, most race horses have names with a lot of flair. Shit like Monaco Breeze or Sir Henley of Axe Von Peterberg.

So, I guess the Triple Crown smacked down another dream. At least Big Brown escaped the race track with his life.

Christian Church folks are burning porn and Harry Potter instead of using the money to purchase said books and the time to burn them to feed the hungry or send aid to China or Myanmar. I'm totally sure thats what Jesus would have wanted. :/

Anyone Out There With a Nose Piercing?
I recently got a nose piercing like two weeks ago and I've accidentally pulled it almost out like twice. Now, the curved part  that stays inside nose is sort of always swinging forward so I have to push it back. Does anyone know if that is normal? Thanks.

Is Ghost Whisperer always that snooze worthy or was it just this Friday's episode?

That was my expression the whole time.

Azure (Gwen/Nina, G, drabble)

Title: Azure
Author: Sami
Fandom: Angel
Spoilers: Angel: After the Fall comics
Summary: An oasis in hell.

Nina wrapped her arms around Gwen as they sat on the roof of the Santa Monica safehouse. The ferris wheel loomed dark as the sun set over the ocean. Nina nuzzled her cheek and Gwen soaked up her caresses like desert sand after the rain.

When Gwen closed her eyes, she could forget the burnt out buildings and the demons. There was only Nina's warm skin and the cool sea breeze. The city was drowning in chaos and blood, but she had never been happier.

Hell had swallowed up Los Angeles, but when Nina held her, it felt like heaven.

Heroes, University Ended
I've been watching Heroes and I've gotten to the tenth episode of the first season. I seriously want to read some fanfiction, but when I googled I found nothing. Maybe I was spoiled by the Whedonverse fandom since we have so many random archives for all sort of genres and pairings. Heck there is even a Fred/Gwen archive, Quiet Shock! If anyone has any fave Heroes sites, please comment with the links.

Finally my sophomore year of University is done. I'm trying to get a job and figure out what I am going to do this summer. I need to learn how to drive. I can't get passed it. I live in Arizona where everything is sprawled out so I can't walk everywhere forever. Its just a little scary for me. Everyone seems to turn into a moron on the road as they race around in their metal suits.

Its like 60 degrees in May in Arizona. I'm happy that its not 104 like usual, but its a little strange.

ETA: Edited to fix link.

I'm reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer...
Wow, this woman can't write. There are adverbs everywhere and I'm talking about three adverbs used in one sentence. I'm serious; its horribly written. And, yet, I love how dopey and vaguely autistic Bella is. I love how cheesy it is. For some reason Edward sounds like Brain from Pinkie and the Brain to me. Though, no doubt about it, this is another one of those books that manages to amuse in spite of its terrible prose and execution. I recommend this for a lazy Saturday night of drinking and reading fun passages from fantasy books.

I played like three hours of Rummy tonight.
Okay, I have three fanfiction works in progress. I have a Gunn/Angel piece that went from fun romp to angst town. There is a Drusilla piece and a Darla piece. The people requested ambiguously gay vampires and thats what I want to give them.

I'm almost done with the Gunn/Angel one that turned into a Angel character study. I took the fake memories that Wolfram & Hart gave to the LA folks and ran with it.

Tucson isn't very interesting for the under 21 crowd on a Saturday (or any other day) so we have to fun our own ways to make fun. I played like three hours of Rummy(sp? [its a card game]) and was beaten by a chick who couldn't keep her eyes open she was so gone. And, thats how she came to the dorm room.

My Best In No Paricular Order [A Fanficcer's Retrospective]

  • Aphrodisia, my one and only Charmed fanfiction, was inspired by Charisma Carpenter's brief role. Its weird that I even wrote this because I'm not a big fan of Leo. I thought that the idea of a dark Leo was an interesting one that I knew wouldn't be explored for long because of the show's hack writers and their Goldfish memory (I like Charmed, but its a good idea with a decent cast that didn't have a high enough caliber of writers need to pull it off half the time) so I decided to put my own spin on Dark!Leo.

Leo has begun to slowly splinter and crack in two. R.

  • Three Little Words, a Harry Potter fanfic, is a darker tale involving Ginny and Tom. It was an experiment that I think turned out well.

He tells you he loves you. R.

  • On The Border is one of my first decent slash fanfics. It is a quiet little UST slash fanfic featuring Oz and Ethan meeting randomly in a US-Mexico border town.

Oz has a tattoo and Ethan is fascinated. PG-13

I'm Not Dead. Just Floating.
University, like always, has eaten up more of my time than I expected at the beginning of the semester. I got on honor roll last semester when I was taking 17 credit with only a moderate amount of studying. This semester, which was supposed to be easy since I'm taking 14 credits, has found me spending waaaaay to much time studying and not enough anything else.

There is hope! Spring Break is on the horizon.

I've been taking a fiction class and I am stifling under the literary rules. No monsters, fighting, or ambiguously gay vampires allowed.

Someone give me a fic challenge, please!

The Man In The Mirror
The Man in the Mirror is a Michael Jackson tribute mixtape by Rhymefest that blends together the King of Pop's interviews and songs with Rhymefest's rapping. Its interesting because he mixed MJ's interviews well enough that it sounds like he is having a conversation with him. This is a pretty good album that Rhymefest is releasing free for download.

Check it out.

Wouldn't It Be Weird?
Wouldn't it be weird if you had a relative or friend that was famous? Just think about it.

All your Christmas gifts to your parents or your kids would be outshadowed by the rich, famous sister's gifts. At the family reunion, you find out that your second cousin was Ben Affleck or something. You go to your friend's birthday party at a exclusive club and there are paparazzi outside and Amy Winehouse od'ing in the bathroom. Thats a interesting view of the crazy celebrity life.

I know. I know. I've been on Oh No They Didn't too long.
